November Clouds

The pattern of the clouds was very unusual that November day, especially the one above the line of the horizon. The powerful contrast sent a sensation of a strong inner force ready to be unleashed! It only needed a sign... I dare to make an image-sound parallel between this photo and Be'lakor's song called Venator.

Here are a few more pics.

As proposed by Noiembrie, Active Child's Johnny Belinda is also a great tune for the above pictures! Please enjoy the sounds along my pictures!

Danube at The Iron Gates

This is a view from the Serbian side (right bank of the Danube) towards the Romanian side, at Cazanele Mici (the Small Boilers).
The tall and quite narrow white cliff in the middle of the first panorama is the statue of Decebal made (sponsored) by Iosif Constantin Dragan (Dragan fecit) at the entrance of Mraconia Bay.

Are you in the area, or do you plan a trip at the Iron Gates? Are you traveling from Belgrade to Bucharest, or from Bucharest to Timisoara? Then you are passing through the Iron Gates area and this natural park is definitely a must as a tourist destination!

Romanian name for the Iron Gates: Porțile de Fier.
Serbian name: Djerdap.

Rainy Day

Oh, no, not today!
Today the temperatures were around 34 degrees Celsius (93 F), and I was looking at a few photos taken on a rainy day.
So this post is just a reminder of how a summer rainy day looks like!

Veil

Passing by St. Anton Church in Old Town of Bucharest, nearby it I noticed  a veil alike cloud. I made a few steps in order to catch it from this angle from which it gives me the idea of a link between the church and the heavens. It is said the the inside of a church represents the skies themselves!

The Planet of the Coffee

The Planet of the Coffee - high resolution image captured a while ago (3rd of April, 2015) by my personal telescope Hubble alike, I mean Humble... "My Humble Telescope"! Don't forget: it's just an image... [Sorry! Lack of imagination... You name it!]

Meanwhile, I moved on, from HD photos to HD moving imagery. Another angle, another night (26th of June, 2015), another atmosphere. Still milky though... Well, Milky Way it's still on its own way...

In time, the fast advancing technology will reveal the secrets behind the shady atmosphere from the above images. Or is it just the human soul enough to explain the complexity of feelings while experiencing a sip of coffee? Feel free to let me know!

A Boat. The Boat

In any field of activity, people are thinking about moving forward.
Yet, like in water skiing, it is not enough to have the proper equipment and the necessary skills!
One should really need a boat with a driver!
Find a boat!
Good luck!

A Quotation from Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Just heard it in a TV documentary, I've liked it, so here I am sharing it with my readers:
Music is liquid architecture; architecture is frozen music.
Searching the web for this quotation, I've learned a new English word (new for me):
polymath: a person of encyclopedic learning
Do you like this quotation? I hope you do!

The English Patient - Quotes and Dialogues

The English Patient (IMDB)

I must be a curse. Anybody who loves me, anybody who gets close to me... or I must be cursed. Which is it?

If anything happen to you, I'll never forgive myself!

You can't explore from the air. If we could explore from the air, life would be very simple.

-- Why are you so determined to keep me alive?
-- Because I am a nurse!

-- How do you explain, to someone who has never been here, feelings which seem quite normal?
-- I don't know, my friend!

Am I "K" in your book? I think I must be.

-- When you were most happy?
-- Now!
-- And when you were least happy?
-- Now!

-- What do you hate most?
-- A lie. What do you hate most?
-- Ownership; being owned. When you leave you should forget me.

Betrayals in war are like child like comparing to the betrayals during peace. New lovers are nervous and tender, but smash everything, for their heart is an organ of fire.

-- I just want you to know that I am not missing you yet.
-- You will! You will...

-- If one night I didn't come to see you, what would you do?
-- I'll try not to expect you!
-- Yes, but if would got late, and I hadn't shown up?
-- Then I think that must be a reason.
-- You wouldn't come to find me? That makes me no want to come here! Then I tell myself: spends all day searching, in the night he wants to be found.
-- I do! I do want you to find me! I do want to be found!

I have to teach myself not to read too much into everything. It comes from too long having to read so much into hardly anything at all.

-- Then I'll come back and you'll be fine.
-- You promise? I wouldn't want to die here. I don't want to die in the desert. [...] Promise me you'll come back for me!
-- I promise! I'll come back for you. I promise. I'll never leave you.

Every night I cut out my heart, but in the morning it was full again.

She died because of me. Because I loved her. Because I had the wrong name.

I don't even know what I'm talking about!

Romania - Tourist Destinations in B&W

A while ago I was invited to post a black and white picture from Romania, for 5 days in a row.

I accepted the challenge back then. Although the posts were public, they are accessible to people who already have a Google Plus account, so I've decided to post them on my blog. I must say that I am not a B&W fan, I like vivid colors of nature, unenhanced by software, taken on as is basis: I like what I see, I shot, I save on my computer, and, eventually I publish it...

Day 1: Peles Castle, Sinaia, Prahova county

The day 1 photo presented, was shot back in February 2008, at Peles Castle, Prahova county.

This is the official page of Peles Castle: http://visit.peles.ro/

If you are interested or curious about other pictures taken at Peles, you might like to take a look at my photo albums:
Peles and Pelisor Castles and
Peles - Interiors.

Day 2: Water/Arts' Castle, Drobeta Turnu Severin, Mehedinti county

I took this pic earlier this year, 2014. 2014 is its centennial anniversary.

There's no official website, but, after its rehabilitation, there are some facilities worth mentioned (everything reduced to the space of a level of this building):
- museum,
- literary cafe,
- exhibition areas,
- panorama point.

Back on the 10th of May, 2014, was the opening of Drobeta Turnu Severin Photographers' Council Photo exhibition at the Art's Castle (Water Tower) at 16:00, among them my daughter, Iulia Midus. Here's a link towards my blog post with their exhibition.

Also at Arts' Castle, back in July, a friend of mine, Paula Aldescu, launched her second book, Un Vis de O Zi (A One Day Dream), when her relatives, her uncle and his sons, Bogdan, Tudor and Gheorghe Mosorescu, had a family painting exhibition opening.

If you want to enjoy the panorama offered by this tower, you might either climb the winding stairs, or simply use the elevator. You might have a clue of how my city looks like from the top of this tower, simply by visiting my photo album called Drobeta Turnu Severin, or clicking this link.

Day 3: Reflections First, Dubova, Mehedinti county

This is the B&W version of the original shown in one of my blog posts, From Drobeta Turnu Severin to Dubova. Just read the post which is an enhanced version of my review on Tripadvisor.com!

Day 4: Hercules Statue, Baile Herculane, Caras Severin county
Legend has it that the weary Hercules stopped in the valley to bathe and rest. During the 165 years of Roman domination of Dacia, the Herculaneum Spa was known all over the Empire. Unearthed stone carvings show that visiting Roman aristocrats turned the town into a Roman leisure center. Six statues of Hercules from the time have been discovered. A bronze replica of one of them, molded in 1874, stands as a landmark in the town center.

There's nothing about it on any of my blogs, so this could be a starting point for a post on this topic! Instead, I have a photo album called Baile Herculane, and here's the link to it.

Day 5: Bran Castle (XIII-th century), Brasov county

With my brief comment that this was NOT Dracula's Castle, I invite you to discover it through its own website.

The photo is almost hypnotic…Gives me goose bumps…Murders, poison, betrayal…
- original comment by Lucie P. on Google Plus

Here's my Bran Castle photo album (including the original of the one depicted in this post).

Photos Hors Concours

Beside the above selection there were some three photos I wanted to present. They are among Top 10 (not completed yet), but not in Top 5. I've decided to list them below.

For any questions or detail (if I will be able to provide), please let me your comment below!

Densus Church, Hunedoara county
